The body of a teenager who went missing at sea after his kayak capsized has been found.
Northumbria Police confirmed that the body of 19-year-old Michael Henry was recovered during searches off the coast of Blyth on Sunday, July 26.
The teenager, from the Rothbury area, was presumed dead having gone missing on July 7.
His kayak capsized near Boulmer in Northumberland and a second man on board managed to swim to a buoy before being rescued.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "We can confirm a body has sadly been found in the search for Michael Henry.
"Following extensive searches, Michael was located in the water off the coast of Blyth on July 26.
"Formal identification has since taken place, and a report has been prepared for the coroner."
Police were called by the Coastguard around 9.15pm on July 7 where a search operation was underway.
In an earlier tribute, Michael’s family described him as "a much-loved son, brother, grandson, nephew, team-mate and friend; a keen sportsman who loved the outdoors."

"Michael was preparing to go travelling this summer and hoping to start university next academic year," they said.
"Michael will be forever in our thoughts, and we will miss him."
The family also thanked emergency services and everyone who supported the search.
