Italian flair and horsepower took centre stage in the North East as Raby Castle hosted its 2026 Italian Car Show in the grounds of the historic estate at the weekend.
The one‑day event, held on Sunday, July 26, transformed the parkland at Raby Castle, near Staindrop in County Durham, into a showcase of Italian automotive design, with hundreds of cars lined up below the medieval fortress.
Run in collaboration with Auto Italia magazine, the Northern Italian Car Day brought together everything from classic Fiats and Alfa Romeos to modern Lamborghinis and Ferraris, making it a must‑see for dedicated petrolheads and families looking for a colourful day out.
Organisers promoted the show as a celebration of “Italian automotive excellence”, inviting owners from across the country to display their pride and joy and take part in judging across categories covering vintage models, 1970s–1990s icons, modern Italian cars and headline‑grabbing supercars.

As well as rows of gleaming machinery, the show made full use of the wider estate, with tickets including access to the Walled Gardens and the surrounding deer park, where red and fallow deer roam within sight of the showfield.
The backdrop is perhaps one of the most striking in the region, with visitors encouraged to take a stroll through the castle grounds and parkland while surrounded by the “style, colour and power” of Italian marques.
The ever‑popular Italian Car Show at Raby has become a regular fixture on the motoring calendar and a key part of the estate’s summer programme.
