Two popular North East attractions have cut their prices as part of the government’s Summer Savings scheme to help out families.
Newham Grange Farm and the Captain Cook Birthplace museum in Middlesbrough are taking part in the initiative.
The price of admission to the farm has dropped from £5.80 to £5 for adults and from £4.90 to £4 for children.
A family ticket, which was £19.50 is now priced at £15 for two adults and two children or one adult and three children.
Meanwhile, tickets for the museum will be reduced for families from £14.10 to £10 for two adults and two children or from £13 to £10 for one adult and three children.
Single adult tickets have dropped to £4.20 and to £3.30 for children.
The prices are a result of the Middlesbrough Council Summer Savings scheme which involves the temporary reduction of VAT from 20 per cent to five per cent, running through until September 1.
The Mayor of Middlesbrough, Chris Cooke, said he was pleased families could enjoy more savings as the summer holidays start.
