A late-night cookie chain is opening its first store in the North East this week.
Insomnia Cookies will open in Newcastle on Saturday, July 18, at 28–34 Clayton Street, and will give away free cookies throughout the day to mark the occasion.
There is also a chance to win a year's supply of cookies, with the 1st, 500th and 1,000th customer receiving the supply of goodies.
For the first 50 customers, there's a chance to win exclusive Insomnia merchandise bags.
The launch event will include a live DJ, Insomnia merchandise giveaways, and cookie samplers handing out treats to the queue.
Customers can dine inside the funky, bright-coloured venue, or take their treats away.
Comedian Robin Armstrong, who is from the city, will also be present during the afternoon to entertain the crowd.
Andrew Phillips, Head of Operations in the UK, said: "Newcastle is one of the best nights out in the country.
"It’s a proper student city full of late-night crowds looking for their go-to treat.
"We can't wait to bring warm, fresh-baked cookies into the mix and give Geordies a new late-night ritual.

Insomnia Cookies, which started in the US in 2003 and now has more than 350 stores in North America, has been expanding across the UK with stores in Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Sheffield and Nottingham.
It was founded by Seth Berkowitz, who came up with the idea while at university in need of a late-night snack.
The brand has built a following among clubbers and cookie fans for its freshly baked, warm cookies available until the early hours.

Its menu now includes flavours such as the classic Chocolate Chunk and Bueno Deluxe, along with build-your-own boxes featuring up to a dozen cookies in any combination of standard and deluxe options.
Insomnia Cookies also delivers directly to your door, a handy option promising cookies that arrive warm and ready to eat if you'd rather stay in.
Additional treats can be claimed via an app after making a purchase.
The new Newcastle store will be open Monday-Sunday, 11am until 1am.
