A County Durham teenager has been charged to appear in court after allegedly riding a scooter anti-socially.
Lucas Shaun Weldon, 18, of Thirlmere Road, Ferryhill, was stopped and arrested on suspicion of driving offences on Newcomen Street in the town around 12.30pm on Tuesday (July 14).
He was then charged with driving without a licence, insurance, an MOT and failing to wear a helmet.
The 18-year-old was reported to appear in court.
A spokesperson for Durham Police said: "A teenager has been charged after a Motorcycle Section stop in Ferryhill.
"Durham Roads & Armed Policing responded to reports of a scooter being ridden anti-socially around the town just before 12.30pm and swiftly stopped and arrested the rider on suspicion of driving offences in Newcomen Street.
"Lucas Shaun Weldon was subsequently charged with driving without a licence, insurance, an MOT and failing to wear a helmet."
