A darkly comic new thriller with a star‑studded cast is heading to Darlington Hippodrome next year, it has been announced.
The Other Side of Murder, written by Torben Betts, will run from February 16 to 20, 2027.
The play follows TV medium Darius Divine, who expects nothing more than awkward conversation during a family dinner.
However, the evening takes a chaotic turn with the arrival of his pregnant lover, his Gilbert and Sullivan-obsessed mother-in-law, and a series of ghostly visitations.
The show has been described as wickedly entertaining and features Rufus Hound in the lead role of Darius Divine, alongside Susie Blake as Miriam and Aisha Jawando as Laura.
Beth Lilly stars as Jen, with Andy McLeod playing Jason and understudying for Darius.
Understudies Sarah Lawn, Maddy Banks, and Oliver Byng complete the cast.
As dinner burns and tensions rise, the division between performance and reality starts to blur, secrets are revealed, jealousies erupt, and an unexpected twist leaves the audience reeling.
The production has been billed as "funny, shocking, and deliciously unsettling".
