A sunscreen from a budget supermarket has been named the best buy by Which.
Aldi’s Lacura SPF Sun Lotion was crowned the “Best Buy” by Which for its “excellent protection”.
The sunscreen, which only costs £2.95, beat out its luxury rivals, including the £33 Ultrasun and the £23 Eucerin.
You can find Aldi’s dermatologist-approved sun care range in its stores with products starting from only £1.65.
What makes Aldi’s sunscreen so good?
Which tested a range of sunscreens against the British Standards for UVA and UVB protection.
Aldi’s sunscreen outperformed other more expensive options to take the top spot in performance and value.
The judges praised the sunscreen for its affordability and achieved a four-star rating for sustainability thanks to its UV filter impact and packaging recyclability.
Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “With red weather warnings in place, it’s more important than ever that families take sun safety seriously.
“That means not only applying high factor sun cream, but also seeking shade where possible, covering up with protective clothing and staying hydrated throughout the day.

What else is in Aldi’s Lacura sunscreen range?
Alongside the Lacura SPF30 moisturising sun lotion, you can also try the Lacura SPF50+ sensitive sun lotion, which costs £3.29 and is described as being fragrance-free and non-greasy.

If you are looking for something more lightweight, you might like the Lacura refreshing dry mist, which costs £2.99, or either of the face sun lotions that are easily absorbed by the skin.
For children, there is the Lacura Baby & Kids sensitive lotion, which costs £3.29 and is said to ensure “maximum protection without irritation”, or the Lacura sensitive SPF50+ kids roll on, which costs £2.29.
