A spokesman for the museum said: "Dive into the thrilling world of Chris Ryan’s Breakout and learn about all the twists and turns inperson.
"This is a rare opportunity to listen to Chris talk about his new book as he stops in at The Green Howards Museum during his charity Coast to Coast Bike Ride."
The ride begins in Morecombe on July 18 and will continue to Saltburn on July 19, with an overnight stop in Richmond.
Ryan will be joined by veterans from the Green Howards Regiment and the Royal Yorkshire Regiment.
Born near Newcastle in 1961, Ryan joined the SAS in 1984 and spent ten years in the regiment, taking part in overt and covert missions.
He served as sniper team commander for the anti-terrorist team and is best known for his role in the Gulf War, where he was the only member of an eight-man team to escape from Iraq. It was the longest escape and evasion in the history of the SAS.
