A biker is wanted by police after a suspected hit-and-run left a four-year-old boy in hospital.
Shortly before 3.30pm on Saturday, June 27, a motorcycle collided with a boy, aged four and a woman - aged in her 30s - on Sea Road next to Ocean Beach Pleasure Park, in South Shields.
The vehicle – along with two other motorcycles – then left the scene.
Emergency services attended, and the boy was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
The woman sustained minor injuries and was also taken to hospital for treatment.
A section of the road was closed between Ocean Road and Beach Road for a short period of time but has since reopened.

Officers from the Force’s Roads Policing Unit (RPU) have launched a full investigation and are today (Saturday) appealing for the rider of the motorcycle to come forward – as well as any further witnesses.
Extensive enquiries have been ongoing, including a review of CCTV, to identify the person responsible.
The area was particularly busy at the time, and they are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area who may have information which could help with their enquiries.
