A popular hotel and spa is set for a "complete transformation" as works get underway.

The Parkmore Hotel, in Eaglescliffe, has announced it will be "breathing new life" into every corner of its hotel, restaurant, and spa over the next few months.

Bosses at the Yarm Road venue, which was originally built as a home in 1896, say everything being “redesigned with guests in mind”.

The refurbishment will be completed in late September, with the hotel, which boasts 55 rooms as well as communal areas, function rooms, and wedding spaces, running as normal throughout.

A statement on Facebook said: “This week, work started on a complete transformation of The Parkmore Hotel, and we couldn't be more excited to share what's ahead.

“Over the coming months, we will be breathing new life into every corner of the hotel, creating a fresh, modern and welcoming space for our guests, while keeping the warmth and hospitality that make Parkmore so special.

“From our 55 bedrooms, restaurant and bar, communal areas, and the Hideaway Spa, to our two function suites and beautifully enhanced wedding spaces, every detail is being carefully redesigned with our guests in mind.

“Whether you're joining us for a relaxing stay, a special celebration, a wedding, a spa escape, or simply a meal with family and friends, you'll soon discover a completely refreshed Parkmore experience.

“This is more than a refurbishment. It's a reinvestment in the memories we help create, the moments we share, and the people who walk through our doors.

“Our transformation will be completed in late September, and we can't wait to show you all. Business will still run as normal up until September.

“Because at The Parkmore Hotel, you'll always arrive as a guest, leave as a friend.”
