A new co-op store has opened at the heart of Wynyard.

The convenience store on Hanzard Drive opened its doors on Friday, June 26, creating 13 jobs.

It will be open daily from 7am to 10pm.

Andy Brown, area manager at Co-op, said: "We are delighted to invest in Wynyard, and proud to launch Co-op’s newest store - the store looks fantastic.

"We invest to create local stores which are more than just a shop, they are a hub contributing to local life and meeting the needs of communities, with a focus on offering quality products, value and choice that can be enjoyed by everyone.

"There are great deals and promotions throughout the store, and a range of added services to make everyday life easier for the community.

"We’re proud to have the opportunity to serve Wynyard, and look forward to welcoming the community into their new Co-op.

"We’re here to contribute to local life and conveniently serve and support the community."

Shoppers will find fresh and chilled food, an in-store bakery, and Costa Express machine.

It will also stock flowers and have an Amazon parcel collection point, PayPoint, and offer online grocery deliveries through Deliveroo, Uber Eats, and Just Eat.

Orders can also be picked up in-store.
