A restaurant which opened its doors at Bishop Auckland less than two years ago appears to have closed for good.
The Bake, which has restaurants on Gosforth High Street and at Eldon Square in Newcastle, opened at the town's new retail park in November 2024.
But it now appears to have closed permanently, with chairs removed from inside the eatery.
On May 30, the restaurant posted on Facebook to say it would be closed "for the next few days".

Replying to a customer who asked for an update on the restaurant via the Facebook page of its Eldon Square branch, the chain replied: "We are no longer operating from Bishop."
The Northern Echo contacted The Bake for comment.
It is not yet known whether the closure is temporary or permanent.

A closed sign can be seen hanging in the window with chairs removed from inside, and only a small sign lit up and some bottles left behind the bar.
The restaurant offered a Lebanese menu including an all-you-can-eat buffet at £10 per person, and was a favourite spot for locals.
The company's accounts, which were due with Companies House in January 2026, remain unfiled.
