Police search for men who used drone near HMP Deerbolt

Police are tracking two men who used a drone in an incident linked to a County Durham prison earlier this month.

On May 18, Durham Police said two men are reported to have used a drone in the Barnard Castle area, near HMP Deerbolt, between 2am and 4am.

The men then left in a grey Volkswagen Golf.

Durham Police are appealing for information, CCTV images and doorbell footage of the men.

A spokesperson said: "On May 18, two males used a drone in the Barnard Castle area and committed an offence linked to HMP Deerbolt.

"They have then left the area in a grey Volkswagen Golf.

"The offence occurred between 2am and 4am.

"If anyone has seen anything suspicious in the area or has any CCTV or video doorbell footage, please can you send it to barnardcastlebeats@durham.police.uk."
