A MAJOR Bank Holiday music festival is coming to Newcastle this May, promising a packed weekend of live performances and family-friendly entertainment.

Times Square will be transformed into a hub of music, food, and immersive experiences from Friday, May 22 until Monday, May 25, as part of a four-day programme curated by EVNT Live.

Mike Hesketh, co-director of EVNT Live, said: "We’ve put together an incredible line-up across the Bank Holiday weekend with something for everyone to enjoy.

"Times Square is a perfect location and has the added benefit of being able to get to as well as being the ideal space for these kind of events."

The festivities kick off on Friday night with the Great British Tribute Fest 2026, billed as Newcastle’s ultimate Indie and Brit Rock singalong.

From 5pm to 11pm, tribute acts will perform hits by Sam Fender, Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, Blur, and Gerry Cinnamon.

Saturday’s headline event is Day Fever, a daytime disco hosted by TV star Vicky McClure.

Running from 12.30pm to 9.30pm, the event promises to be a celebration of 90s and 00s nostalgia, indie dance floor classics, rock anthems and soul singalongs.

Former Newcastle United and England footballer Chris Waddle will also take to the DJ booth.

On Sunday, Times Square will be transformed with The Road to Nashville, a full day of country music tributes from 12pm to 10pm.

Fans can expect performances in the style of Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, Miley Cyrus, and Luke Combs, as well as line dancing, barbecue food, axe throwing, vintage games, and a rodeo bull.

Families are invited to wrap up the weekend on Bank Holiday Monday at K-Pop Live - The Ultimate KPOP Experience.

The event runs from 3.30pm to 6.30pm and will include two segments of classic K-Pop hits, street food, bubbles, confetti, and glitter stations.
