Gosforth games marathon to raise cash for important cause

Taking place at Three Mile in Gosforth on Friday, May 22, the event aims to raise money for Children’s Cancer North, an independent charity which supports individuals and families affected by childhood cancer.

Running from 10am to 10pm, the games marathon invites people of all ages to take part in a range of lounge games, including darts, pool, table football, dominoes, and retro arcade machines.

Alice Middleton, group sales and marketing manager at Malhotra Group plc, said: "Whether they're super competitive or just enjoy playing games with friends and family, this event has something for everyone.

"There are traditional pub games along with some pretty impressive arcade games and favourites such as table football, so all ages can take part.

"And the best bit is that entrants will be having fun while supporting a really good cause at the same time."

Entry costs £5 and participants can challenge each other or take on the Three Mile team, and can stay for the full event or drop in and out throughout the day.

Bookings can be made online in advance, or guests can simply turn up on the day.

Three Mile’s jungle-themed soft play centre, The Playhouse, will also be open, offering safe, structured play zones for children.

In addition to the games, four-piece party band The Bitters will perform from 8pm.

Games have been donated by Newcastle-based The Rudd Group.
