999 crews were called to a fire at a County Durham supermarket on Tuesday night.
County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service (CDDFRS) attended Tesco on Greenwell Road in Newton Aycliffe.
A small fire broke out in the shop at around 9.30pm with pictures taken at the scene showing a fire engine parked outside the store.
The fire service confirmed that the incident was dealt with before they arrived, and firefighters left the scene at around 9.55pm.
A County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 9.32pm last night (April 28) to an automatic fire alarm at Tesco on Greenwell Road in Newton Aycliffe.
“One fire engine from Newton Aycliffe Fire Station attended.
“Firefighters were informed there had been a small fire in the store; however, it was extinguished before they arrived.
“No action was required from the crew.

“Firefighters left the scene at 9.55pm.”
The supermarket chain has confirmed that the store continued to trade as normal during the incident and "there was no risk to colleagues or customers."
It added that "Our Newton Aycliffe Extra is open as usual following the fire service attending the store yesterday evening."
