Travel Disruptions

A19 closure near Thirkleby in the Thirsk area - police are at the scene of a serious collision on the A19 between the turn-offs to Thirkleby and Hutton Sessay.

The road is closed in both directions. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use an alternative route at this time.

Train Disruptions

There doesn't look to be any disruption on the rail lines across the North East this morning.

What will the weather be like in the North East today?

According to the Met Office, today will be dry with sunny spells.

Today: A chilly start, with any early low cloud soon clearing. This will leave another fine and dry day with long sunny spells and light winds. Feeling warm in the sunshine, but cool near coasts. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight: A dry and sunny evening. Lengthy clear spells overnight will allow areas of fog to develop, with frost likely especially in prone rural spots. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Are there any roadworks in Darlington?

  • Temporary traffic signals due to construction on A67 both ways between Mill Lane and Merrybent Drive. Expect delays.
  • Temporary traffic signals due to gas main work on A67 Carmel Road South both ways between B6280 Coniscliffe Road and The Spinney.
  • Partially blocked due to construction on Houndgate both ways at Bull Wynd.
  • Height limit of 4.3 meters on B6280 Parkgate both ways between Neasham Road and Borough Road.
  • Temporary traffic signals due to construction on Pierremont Road both ways near Vine Street.
  • Give take traffic due to electricity work on Bamburgh Place both ways at Hutton Avenue.
  • Temporary traffic signals due to construction on Rotary Way both ways at Centurion Way.
  • Stop/go boards and electricity work on A1150 Salters Lane North both ways between Thompson Street East and A167 North Road.
