Raby Castle Cricket Club applied for permission to demolish its existing timber pavilion from the 1980s and build a larger one.
The new structure will have a porch with a clock and be bigger with new changing rooms meet England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) standards. It will also have a seperate female changing room, accessible toilets, showers, and an improved social area.
The site sits in a Grade II* registered park and garden, close to Grade I-listed Raby Castle.
Planners received no objections from consultees or neighbours, and planning permission was granted on April 7 by Durham County Council.
