Hartlepool EuroMillions ticket worth £1m still not claimed

A EuroMillions ticket purchased in the Unitary Authority of Hartlepool area for the draw on Friday, March 13, holds a UK Millionaire Maker prize worth £1 million, but the winner has yet to come forward.

National Lottery players are being encouraged to check and re-check their tickets, with the winning code confirmed as JLZG97793.

Andy Carter, senior winners advisor at Allwyn, operator of the National Lottery, said: "Did you play our special EuroMillions Friday, March 13 draw?

"You could be sitting on a life-changing fortune and not know it.

"While the number 13 may be unlucky for some, we want to make this date someone’s luckiest day ever and are urging the public to check their tickets."

"Check your bags, coats, purses and wallets. Think back to that draw only a few weeks ago. Is the ticket stashed away in a winter coat you’ve stored away now that spring is here? Someone who bought a ticket in Hartlepool is now a millionaire and it's our mission to unite them with their winnings!”

If the winner does not come forward by September 9, the prize, plus any interest accrued, will be used to support National Lottery-funded community projects across the UK.

Those who believe they hold the winning ticket but have lost it may submit a claim in writing to Allwyn within 30 days of the draw.

Allwyn will review the evidence and determine whether the claim is valid, with the discretion to pay out on stolen, lost or destroyed tickets in certain cases.

National Lottery players are given 180 days from the date of the draw to claim their winnings.
