Here are five applications decided in County Durham last week that you might have missed:

Security netting at Young Offenders Institution

Durham County Council has approved the installation of new security netting at HM Young Offenders Institution in Deerbolt on Bowes Road, Startforth.

The netting will reach a height of seven metres above ground level.

The decision was issued on March 18.

Guesthouse conversion in Stanley Crook

Approval has been granted for the subdivision of an existing guesthouse at 6–7 Railway Terrace in Stanley Crook.

The development will create a new self-contained dwelling, alongside associated works.

Apartment reconfiguration in Barnard Castle

Plans to subdivide an upper-floor apartment at 11 The Bank in Barnard Castle into two separate flats have been approved.

The scheme includes internal reconfiguration, the installation of external stairs and doors, and the relocation of a downpipe.

Retrospective approval for holiday caravan

A static caravan at 8 Ascot Court in Leeholme, Bishop Auckland, has received retrospective planning permission to be used as a holiday let.

The application was granted on March 19.

Housing development at Hardwick Hall Manor Hotel

Plans for three detached residential properties, including private vehicular access and a courtyard, at Hardwick Hall Manor Hotel in Hesleden have been approved.

The application was granted on March 17, subject to a Section 106 agreement.
