A motorist who refused to take a breathalyser test when he was stopped on suspicion of drink driving has lost his licence.

Mark Laws was pulled over in Seaham on March 14 as he drove through the town, Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court heard.

The 45-year-old pleaded guilty to failing to provide specimen for analysis when he appeared in court on Monday.

Laws, of Galatea Road, Yarm, was banned from driving for 14 months, fined £600 and ordered to pay £85 towards court costs.
