A Newton Aycliffe grandmother has launched a skincare range inspired by her granddaughters.
Joanne Carr, a businesswoman from Newton Aycliffe, has unveiled P & P Gentle Skincare—a two-product collection named after her granddaughters, Poppy and Phoebe.
The idea was born after her eight-year-old granddaughter began giving her facials, copying routines she had seen online.
Ms Carr said: "After a few of these facials, my own skin became red and irritated.
"If my adult skin reacted like that, what chance did young, delicate skin have?
"That moment changed everything.

"I’m so excited to be launching this new chapter.
"Even at this early stage, it feels truly amazing, and I can’t wait to see where it leads."
Concerned by the growing influence of social media trends promoting strong skincare actives and acids, Ms Carr wanted to create a safe alternative.
She said: "I didn’t want to add to the pressure.
"I wanted to give parents something they could trust— something soft, uncomplicated and suitable for the whole family."
She worked with a trusted cosmetic manufacturer in the south of England to ensure the products met the highest standards.
The range includes P & P Gentle Moisturiser and P & P Gentle Glow Oil.
Both products have been safety checked, professionally assessed, and are fully compliant with UK cosmetic regulations.
Ms Carr involved her granddaughters in the design process.
She said: "The girls helped choose the colours, shapes and positive messages on the labels.
"Their creativity and innocence are woven into the heart of the brand.
"We want every child to feel confident and cared for."
Before launching, the products were tested by a small group of young people, including her granddaughters, with full parental involvement.

Although designed with children in mind, the range is suitable for the whole family.
