A man who was caught carrying a homemade spear while in possession of cocaine has narrowly avoided an immediate prison sentence.
Bronson Robinson was spotted on Penrith Road, Middlesbrough, carrying the improvised weapon on October 29 last year.
And a subsequent search by police revealed he had around £10,000 in cash secured through illicit activities.

Robinson, of Abdale Avenue, Middlesbrough, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of criminal property – the cash.
The 34-year-old was sentenced to nine months in prison suspended for 18 months when he appeared before Recorder David Kelly at Teesside Crown Court.
He also ordered that the defendant complete 120 hours of unpaid work, attend 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days and issued a seizure order for the money.
