Grantley Hall in Ripon wins Best Spa Hotel in the UK

Grantley Hall in Ripon picked up the title at The Global Spa Awards by the Luxury Spa Edit for 2026.

Writing on Facebook, the hotel, which has previously been described as a 'palladian gem', said: "Grantley Hall has won Best Spa Hotel – UK in The Global Spa Awards by The Luxury Spa Edit™ 2026!

"We're so proud of this accolade, based on both the expertise of the world's leading spa and wellness experts, and also the opinions of guests that have visited first-hand.

"These awards, distributed to the best spas across the world, are recognised as one of the most prestigious and authentic honours in the luxury spa and wellness industry, so it's a fantastic achievement by our exceptional team."

It is the latest gong for the award-winning hotel.

Last October, it was awarded another prestigious Michelin Key, its second in as many years.

A Michelin Guide spokesperson said: "You couldn’t ask for a more classic example of the English country-house hotel than Grantley Hall, a 17th-century Palladian gem in the Yorkshire Dales.

"The exterior, electric lighting aside, remains just as it was, while the interiors have been brought up to contemporary luxury-hotel standard—retaining their historical aspect, of course, but looking as fresh as the day the Hall was built."

Last summer it was also included on a prestigious list as one of the best hotels in the world.

La Liste - a global guide for gourmets and international travellers - included Grantley Hall in Ripon in their list of the best 1,000 hotels across the world.

It joined other high-end names like The Savoy and Claridges in London.

Prices at the five-star luxury hotel typically start from roughly £400-£500 per night.
