A Darlington salon has secured a place in the top ten in The Northern Echo’s search for the best hairdresser in Darlington and County Durham, less than a year after opening its doors.

Xology Hair Darlington opened on West Auckland Road in April last year, as the award-winning team behind the Lox of Love brand relocated from Aycliffe to Darlington.

By June, the business had transformed into its new identity, bringing with it a strong reputation for hair extensions and a loyal client base.

Leading the way is salon manager Dani Jones, 29, who lives in Darlington and has been hairdressing for 14 years.

For Dani, the move marked a full circle moment. She initially trained in the very same premises the salon now occupies and remained there for six years at the start of her career.

The salon also serves as HQ of the Lox of Love brand, known for its award-winning hair extensions specialists. The same experienced team is now driving Xology Hair forward as it builds its name in the town.

Dani said: "We are very proud and humbled by it all, we have worked so hard to build a good reputation in Darlington and it is nice to see it has paid off. We still have so many loved clients that come to us and also new clientele too."

Her path into hairdressing was set early as it was always her destiny to follow in her mum’s footsteps and pursue a career in the industry.

Reflecting on the salon’s growth in its first year, she added: "I just want to thank all of the customers loyal and new and we are just so happy as we are getting bigger and better in Darlington."
