Halifax is set to close its bank in Thornaby town centre.
The bank, part of the Lloyds group, announced this week that the branch at the Pavillion Shopping Centre will close its doors on June 17.
It comes just months after Barclays closed its cashless offering at the leisure centre, which replaced the main branch when it closed in 2022 in a "devastating blow" to the town.
Thornaby town centre still benefits from a Virgin Money branch and a Post Office.
The Halifax Thornaby closure is one of 95 branches of Lloyds, Halifax, and Bank of Scotland across the UK to shut.
Among the branches on the list are those on Station Road in Ashington, which will close on June 3, and Billingham, in the Town Square, which will shut the next day on June 4.
All the closures will take place between May 2026 and March 2027.
