An out-of-use building at Durham University’s Queens Campus in Stockton has been put up for sale with a £3m price tag.
The university is seeking expressions of interest in the Holliday Building, located next to the main entrance of the Teesside campus at Teesdale Business Park.
The 83,518 square foot building, which was constructed in 1992 alongside the purpose-built campus, is made up of three wings but is no longer in use by the university.
The two-storey building is home to eight lecture rooms, 11 teaching rooms, office space, wet lab facilities, and a kitchen, servery, and dining rooms.
It also still benefits from 24 hour CCTV security.
The Queen’s Campus was once home to Durham’s School of Medicine, Pharmacy and Health until it was transferred to Newcastle University for the 2017/18 academic year.
The campus is now the university’s international study centre, providing international students with a foundation year for English language training in order to progress to undergraduate degree courses at the university.
The adjacent Ebsworth Building is home to study space, a library and café facilities while the sports centre boasts a fully equipped gym and sports hall.

The site currently accommodates around 660 students but was once home to around 2,000 full-time students.
The university is looking to seek offers in excess of £3,000,000 for the freehold interest of the building, subject to contract and exclusive to VAT.
A spokesperson said: “The Holliday Building is no longer in use. We are seeking expressions of interest in acquiring the building.”
