A powerful new documentary series is set to shine a light on the everyday realities of cancer support in County Durham.
A Day in My Life tells the story of those facing cancer and the "warriors" who support them at the Solan Connor Fawcett Family Cancer Trust in Spennymoor.
The opening episode features Mark Solan and his dedicated team, spotlighting the emotional journey of those living with cancer.
The series has been created by award-winning filmmaker Dean Midas. He is known for his horror shorts but in this project, focuses on real-life courage and hope.
He said: "We wanted to show the reality of what happens here.
"It’s about the tears, yes, but it’s also about the laughter, the cups of tea, and the fact that no one has to walk this path alone.
"Mark’s energy is infectious, and we want the world to see the vital lifeline this hub provides."
Part one of the series follows Mr Solan, who founded the Trust after losing both his mother and grandmother to cancer.
Since its inception, the hub has become a sanctuary for families in the North East, providing everything from professional counseling and physical therapies to simple, much-needed moments of joy.
The first episode shares both the emotional challenges of cancer and the compassion, joy and strength found within the trust’s community.
