Nidderdale, described by visitors as "tranquil", sits outside the Yorkshire Dales National Park, but offers many of the same landscapes that helped make the Channel 5 drama All Creatures Great and Small a hit.

While a lot of the show was filmed in and around the Yorkshire Dales, other parts were shot elsewhere in North Yorkshire, including in Nidderdale.

One contributor to TripAdvisor said: “We went in at first looking at the All day breakfast. Which in itself for what you get was really good price! But when we got in, and was greeted by a nice friendly lady, we looked at the Special boards, and both chose the Steak pie, chips and veg.

“It was gorgeous, loads of steak in the pie, veg cooked just right, and the chips…. They were brilliant! Proper chips cooked well! And £12.50!

“We then had the added pleasure of being able to sit and have a chat with the very friendly owners!”
