The Northern Echo is on the lookout for the best hairdresser in County Durham and Darlington. 

Readers can nominate the 'Best Hairdresser' online after the competition opened on Monday February 2 - entries are due to close on Sunday, February 8.

Northern Echo readers can tell us their favourite hairdresser here.

Once nominations have closed and finalists are revealed, readers will then be able to vote for the overall winner via a coupon in The Northern Echo.

Voting slips will run in the paper from Monday, February 16 until Saturday, February 28. 

The Northern Echo editor Gavin Foster said: "The 'Best Hairdresser' competition gives us an opportunity to shine a spotlight on some great businesses across the region.

“We know we have some fantastic salons out there across Darlington and County Durham.

“That's why we’re delighted to launch our search for the best hairdresser or barber to help put them on the map and celebrate all that they do.

"Nominations are open now and we’ll be bringing you updates on those shortlisted in our competition – so keep an eye out to see if your favourite is featured and for more information on how to vote.”
