A sick pervert who tried to watch a livestream of a child being raped was caught in an undercover police sting.
John McAdams struck up an online conversation with a man pretending to have access to a ten-year-old girl and offered him the chance to watch her being sexually abused.
As soon as the 65-year-old logged into the livestream police raided his Stockton home and arrested him after admitting he wanted to watch the abuse, Teesside Crown Court heard.
Tabitha Buck, prosecuting, said he was arrested at his home address and had a number of his devices seized as part of the investigation which led to the discovery of indecent images of both children and animals.
She said: “During the conversations, he said he and the undercover officer could do it together and highlighting the sexual activities he would like to engage in.
“The defendant then messaged the undercover officer asking to be there when he abuses the girl – saying he had carried out a sex act over the image the officer had sent him while thinking of them engaging in a threesome.”
McAdams, of Rollesby Way, Stockton, pleaded guilty to arranging the commission of a child sex offence, attempt to engage in sexual communication with a child, making and distributing indecent images of children, and possessing extreme/indecent images of animals between September 12 and October 9 last year.
Nicci Horton, mitigating, said her client had admitted the offences immediately and had made no attempt to excuse his behaviour.
Judge Nathan Adams sentenced McAdams to six-year prison sentence and issued him with a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

“You had developed a significant sexual interest in children, you believed you had communicated with somebody who shared that sexual interest,” he said.
“It is fortunate that it was an undercover police officer but that is not something that you knew at the time.”
Speaking after the sentencing, Detective Constable Grace Wass, from the North East Regional Organised Crime Unit, said: “McAdams pleaded guilty to his vile actions thanks to the hard work of officers whose tireless efforts to build a strong evidence case file has paid off.
“I want to thank everyone who worked on this investigation, including our colleagues at ERSOU, everyone’s efforts have ensured a dangerous predator is now behind bars.”
