A pet owner will have to wait to learn the fate of her Belgian Malinois after she admitted failing to control her dog.
A specialist report on the dangerousness of the dog will need to be carried out before Tracy Coils can be sentenced, a court heard.
The 54-year-old pleaded guilty to her pet being dangerously out of control when she failed to stop it attacking a man on September 6 last year while out in Ferryhill.

The dog caused injury to a man walking near Brunel Street in the town.
Emily Jo Willis, representing Coils, asked Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court to adjourn sentencing to allow further time for the assessment of the dog to be carried out.
Colonel Ian Simpson, the chairman of the bench, adjourned the case until February 25.
