I went to Darlington Indoor Market to watch The Traitors Final

If you have not watched The Traitors final yet, do not carry on reading, there will be spoilers ahead.

I can safely say it is one of the most tense, nerve-wracking and exciting pieces of television I have ever seen. I was on the edge of my seat for 75 minutes.

Myself and a couple of friends got to the market shortly before 8, expecting there to be plenty of seats to choose from as the final did not start until 8.30.

How wrong we were. The place was full, and our table was at the side of the huge 175" screen on which the finale was being broadcast.

Still, it didn't ruin what was an amazing night.

Pint of Staropramen in hand, I sat down to watch the final, leg bouncing up and down in anticipation.

Thursday's episode was left on a cliff-hanger. Would Traitor Rachel or Faithful James gain a shield and make it to the final?

There were audible gasps throughout the market hall when it was revealed Rachel had the shield. James revealed himself as a "trait-ful", playing one last trick on his fellow contestants, before confirming he was a Faithful. Some applause broke out around the market.

Throughout the final, I lost track of the number of times I said 'oh my god', put my hand over my mouth in shock or just sat there, mouth agape, at the cinema I was watching.

Whether it was during the final challenge when contestants had to get in boats to pontoons, collect money and then run down a dam, or Rachel's monumental slip-up of "If I were a Faithful I would have murdered me", before she quickly corrected herself.

There were people in disbelief around me as she seemingly fell at the final hurdle, but no one on the show caught on.

Middlesbrough native Faraaz, who had been convinced Rachel was a Traitor, changed his mind at the Endgame after Jade was voted out at the final round table.

This was my first time watching the Traitor's, and I loved the brutality of it and how quickly things can change.

Traitors Rachel and Stephen teamed up to banish Faraaz, which left remaining Faithful Jack with a resigned look on his face.

You could hear a pin drop as players decided who they wanted to banish for the final time. Stephen had the casting vote. Would he banish fellow Traitor Rachel and take the money for himself, or banish his close friend Jack and share the money?

When he revealed Jack's name on his slate, there were gasps and cheers in the market as two Traitors won for the first time in the show's history.

For my first time watching the show, it had me hooked from the start, and I will definitely be tuning in again for the next series.
