The heartbroken family of an innocent man brutally murdered by a drugs gang intent on revenge have spoken of their devastation.
Jordan Hogg was attacked in his own home by the machete and knife-wielding thugs when they were hunting for another man the accused of stealing an expansive e-bike from one of their dealers.
The 28-year-old was left to bleed to death as the gang scrambled to make their escape and flee the scene in Hemlington, Middlesbrough, in February last year.
Mr Hogg’s mother Susan said: “My son was left dying in the street, bleeding profusely, screaming and shouting for help - his last painful minutes were brutal and horrific.
“The thought that my sone knew his fate and was left to die outside will haunt me for the rest of my life – this is a vision I will never erase from my mind.”
His sister Lauren said: “Since my brother was murdered, my world has been turned upside down - the pain is constant and overwhelming.
“There’s not a single day that passes without thinking about him and the brutal way his life was taken.”
And his dad Darren rushed from work where he watched paramedics desperately trying to save Jordan’s life.
He said: “I saw Jordan laid in the garden with an ambulance crew working on him, they were giving him blood transfusion and had a machine to pump his chest.
“I asked them how he was and they told me it was not looking good.
“I will never forget that night, the trauma of seeing the ambulance crew cover Jordan over after they had been unable to save him – I pulled the cover back and gave him a kiss goodbye.”
Sidney Bashford, of Darwen Court in Hemlington, was found guilty of murder and possession of an offensive weapon and jailed for life with a minimum term of 28 years.
Oliver Connelly, of Elmhurst Gardens in Middlesbrough, was convicted of the same offences and jailed for life with a minimum term of 23 years.
Michael Charville, 44, of Palmer Street, Middlesbrough, was found guilty of murder and told he will serve a minimum of 20 years of his life sentence.
Ryan Moore, 23, of Grange Road, Middlesbrough, was found guilty of murder and sentenced to a minimum of 22 years of his life sentence.
And 17-year-old Kaiden McIvor, who can be named for the first time, was detained at His Majesty’s pleasure with a minimum tariff of 16 years.
After the sentencing, Jordan’s family said: “To know these men will now serve a significant time in prison brings a form of justice for Jordan and all of us as a family.
"However, no amount of time will ever make up for how they cruelly took Jordan away from us, and most importantly his daughter, and the immeasurable loss we all feel.”
"Jordan was a funny, loving and a truly special man who loved his daughter beyond measure. Life will never be the same without him."

Speaking after the sentencing hearing at Newcastle Crown Court, senior investigating officer DCI Chris Pringle welcomed the sentences handed down to the drugs gang.
He said: “The sentences handed down to these violent men will never be enough for Jordan’s family and friends who have all been left devastated by his death.
“Their intent to cause the harm that they did that night to an innocent man over a stolen bike is beyond comprehension and unjustifiable.
“It is only the long sentences they will now serve behind bars that acts as the justice they deserve."
