An army of prison guards bearing riot shields and helmets stormed a County Durham prison after disorder broke out.
A convoy of officers walking in twos were captured walking into HMP Deerbolt at Barnard Castle following an incident, believed to have taken place on Monday.
Footage seen by The Northern Echo shows the guards walking through the Category C prison and young offender institution before a series of loud bangs ring out.
The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) has confirmed that a disorder broke out at the prison but details regarding the nature of this are yet to be confirmed.
It is not yet known if any arrests have been made.
A Prison Service spokesperson said: “Thanks to the efforts of our hardworking staff, the incident at HMP Deerbolt was safely resolved.
“Disorder is never tolerated and any prisoners identified as being involved will face punishment.”
