A driver has been arrested on suspicion of fleeing the scene of a crash between a car and a bus in Middlesbrough,
Police were called to The Avenue, where it was reported that just before 11.30pm on Sunday (January 11), a red BMW had collided with a bus and the car driver had fled the scene.
There were no reports of any injuries, but a road closure was put in place to allow vehicle recovery and enquiries to get underway.
Police have confirmed that a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, leaving the scene of an accident and for having no driving licence.
He remains in custody at this time.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Enquiries are continuing today and we would appeal for anyone who has not yet spoken with police or anyone with information or any relevant doorbell, dash cam or private CCTV footage to get in touch.

The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) and Cleveland Fire Brigade also attended the scene.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Fire Brigade said: “Cleveland Fire Brigade were called on January 11 at 11.40pm to an incident at The Avenue, Linthorpe, Middlesbrough. One fire appliance in attendance from Middlesbrough.
The stop call was received at 11.50pm.”
A NEAS spokesperson added: "We received a call to 999 at 23.30 on January 11 to reports of a road traffic collision involving car and bus at the junction of The Avenue and The Crescent in Middlesbrough. No ambulance was required."
