The Repair Shop is currently looking for North East residents to take part in a new upcoming series, following the success of the 2025 Christmas special – would you like to apply?
The heartfelt, touching programme produced for the BBC by Ricochet often leaves viewers in tears, as they watch expert craftspeople from ceramics to furniture bring the public’s most treasured possessions back to life.
Currently, those living in the region are being offered the chance to give their precious items a new lease of life, whether it’s a sentimental doll from a beloved great-grandparent or a musical instrument that has been in the family for decades.
The Repair Shop is specifically interested in hearing from communities who have objects of “historical or social interest” they’d like help with.

“Together they transform pieces of family history and bring loved, but broken treasures, and the memories they hold back to life.
“If you have a treasured item that's seen better days and you think our experts can help, please get in touch now.”

Additionally, for those who loved watching The Repair Shop’s Christmas Special in December and seeing the likes of Will Kirk (furniture restorer) and Kirsten Ramsay (ceramics expert) show off their talents, the programme is looking for residents to take part in the next festive spin-off.
The BBC explained: “The Repair Shop is currently also looking for items for our Christmas Special.
“If you have a festive themed item that evokes cherished memories that you’re hoping to get restored in time for Christmas, we’re looking for seasonal stories and special objects in need of repair and restoration; whether it’s a meaningful item related to the holidays, perhaps a gift or something you wish to gift.
“Whatever will bring you joy this Christmas, we’d love to help.”
