With festive footfall rising in Darlington town centre, finding affordable parking can be tricky.
Using the council’s latest charges from June 2025, we have collated a list of the cheapest options in and around the town.
On-street parking:
Ideal for short visits, on-street bays cost 70p per 30 minutes. Most have a two-hour limit with no return within one hour, except for Grange Road and Northumberland Street, with three hours.
Users cannot top up time once purchasing a ticket and must leave once the ticket has expired.

For longer stays, council-run car parks offer flat rates.

- Chesnut Street – £2 per day or £8 weekly
- East Street – £3 Monday to Saturday, £2 Sunday
- Archer Street, Garden Street, Hird Street, Kendrew Street East and West, Park Place East and West, St Hilda’s – £5 Monday - Saturday, £2 Sunday
- Skerne Bridge - £4
Short stay and long stay options:
Short stay council car parks operate at £1.20 per hour with a maximum 10-hour stay capped at £10.
These include:

- Feethams Multi-Storey
- Winston Street North and West
- Town Hall blue badge
