A "community hub" Darlington coffee shop is going for gold for the second year running after being named in The Northern Echo's Best Coffee Shop 2025.
Deli-cious, which is known for serving up a mixture of British and Greek food from its home on High Row, has been named as one of the ten finalists in our search for the best coffee spot.
The café has been open for the last four years and has become a popular spot in the town - even scooping the best coffee shop in our 2024 competition.
Manager Amber Scott heaped praise on the "welcoming coffee shop's" regulars for their "incredible support", adding that independent shops of this kind are vital to serving the communities where they are based.
Amber said: "We feel massive appreciation for the big support we feel from our customers.
"We're a welcoming coffee shop and make time for customers. We are close with our regulars and take the time to chat with them all. Not a lot of coffee shops would do that.
"We appreciate getting to this stage in the best of awards, and we are flying the flag for independent coffee shops that know their customers by name, which wouldn't be the case for big chain cafés."
Deli-cious is owned by Maria Zaimaki and her family, originally from Greece, who provide the perfect place in Darlington to stop for breakfast, lunch, or a sweet treat.
Alongside winning the Echo's competition, the venue scooped Independent Business of the Year at the Darlington Stronger Communities Awards last year.
