A boy remains in a critical condition after being hit by a car.
Police investigating a crash in which a child was seriously injured, have re-issued an appeal for information from the public.
Officers conducting inquiries into the incident in the Carley Hill area of Sunderland are hoping to trace potential key witnesses.
Northumbria Police received a report of the collision involving a car and a pedestrian at about 7.50pm on Wednesday, November 12.
It was understood a black Mercedes C-Class car was travelling southbound when it collided with a child crossing the road.
Emergency services attended the scene where the child, a 10-year-old boy, had sustained serious injuries.
He remains in hospital in a critical condition, and his family continue to be supported by specially-trained officers.
The driver of the Mercedes car remained at the scene to assist officers with their inquiries.
A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving.
He has since been released under investigation pending further inquiries.
Extensive inquiries have been ongoing since the incident and today (Wednesday, November 19) police are, again, appealing to the public for information.
As part of the investigation, they have released a description of a vehicle which was travelling on Old Mill Road at about the time of the incident.
That vehicle is described as a red or orange five-door Seat Ibiza car, with the model year of 2008-2017.
Officers are asking the occupants of the vehicle to get in touch, as they may have information that could help aid the investigation.
