A man has had his drone seized after flying it over Durham's Lumiere light festival.
Officers using drone-detecting kit caught the pilot on Thursday (November 13) flying over the event, which is in an area of temporarily restricted airspace.
The clever tech was able to work out the location of the drone and its pilot, along identify its serial numbers, height, and speed.
The man was detained and reported for air navigation offences.
Durham Police has issued a warning to other would-be pilots to not risk getting their drones seized by trying to capture the light biennial's final outing.
A spokesperson said: "Please remember drones are not permitted in Durham city centre during Lumiere from 3pm to 11pm.
"There is a temporary airspace restriction in place preventing all drones flying, other than emergency service drones."
Lumiere returned on Thursday and runs until Saturday (November 15), from 5pm til 10pm each night.

Thirty light art installations are dotted around Durham and Shildon for the festival, which has lit up the city since 2009.
But the event will be the final edition after the shock announcement last month that it would not return in 2027, as many expected.
The dazzling light show has pumped more than £43 million into the local economy since its inception and attracted more than one million visitors to the city.
