Two people have been arrested following a “targeted” shooting in Middlesbrough.
Officers were called to Scholars Rise at about 11.10pm on Sunday, October 26, after a firearm was reportedly discharged at the block of flats.
An 18-year-old man suffered injuries to his leg during the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Cleveland Police has confirmed that two men, aged 18 and 41, were arrested in connection with the incident yesterday (November 10).
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm, and a 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm.
Both remain in police custody at this time.
This brings the total number of arrests in connection with the incident to 12.
The force previously said that a 27-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and was recalled to prison, while two men, aged 30 and 34, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and were bailed with conditions.
A further six people were also previously arrested - four men aged 18, 27, 28, 30, a teenage boy aged 16 and a 19-year-old woman - and have been bailed whilst enquiries continue.
A 33-year-old man who was initially arrested in connection with the incident was then later charged with unrelated alleged offences.
Bronson Robinson, of Abdale Avenue in Middlesbrough, appeared at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on October 30 charged with possession of an offensive weapon, possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of criminal property.
Robinson has been remanded in custody until his next hearing at Teesside Crown Court on November 28.
