Road closures and lane restrictions are set to affect Darlington on Thursday, November 13, with several routes impacted by ongoing works.
Drivers and residents in Darlington are being warned to expect disruption as a number of roadworks and closures are scheduled across the town.
The works will affect Parkside, Yarm Road, Houndgate, Beaconsfield Street and Greenbank Road Back Street, Surtees Street South Back, Whessoe Road, Harrowgate Village, and Beaumont Hill.
On Parkside, a road closure is in place from Kingsbruy Mews to 63 Parkside for carriageway patching and resurfacing.
These highway improvement works are expected to continue until November 14.
Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes while the closure is in effect.
Yarm Road will see a lane closure in front of number 2 as Northern Gas Networks carries out gas safety regulation cut-off works.
This utility repair and maintenance work started on November 12 and is set to continue until November 21.
Drivers should expect delays and possible congestion in the area.
At the rear of the Dolphin Centre on Houndgate, a lane closure is in place for the installation of scaffolding.
This is to allow access for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works.
The closure began in March and is scheduled to finish on November 13.
Beaconsfield Street and Greenbank Road Back Street are closed to traffic at the rear of 19 Beaconsfield Street.
Northumbrian Water is excavating to carry out sewer repair works and will reinstate the road once complete.
This closure started on November 10 and is due to last until November 19.
Surtees Street South Back is also closed for utility asset works.
Northumbrian Water is excavating to replace an old lead water main as part of a lead replacement scheme.
These works began on November 8 and are expected to continue until November 21.
Whessoe Road is closed from Longfield Road to Mewburn Road for patching and resurfacing as part of a highways maintenance scheme.
The closure started on November 9 and will remain in place until November 17.
Long-term closures are also affecting Harrowgate Village and Beaumont Hill.

In Harrowgate Village, the road is closed from Dewberry Lane to the Village Hall for S278 works linked to a new development.
Similarly, Beaumont Hill is closed from Dewberry Lane to 25 Beaumont Hill for the same type of improvement works.
Both closures began in March and are scheduled to continue until March next year.
