A Darlington beautician is giving back to her community by helping people with cancer and alopecia regain their confidence through free treatments.
Hannah Clare, 32, who owns and runs Hannah Clare Aesthetics, once a month sets aside a day to fit in up to eight clients who are battling hair loss.
She offers them semi-permanent tattooing treatments to help them 'feel like themselves again'.

A fully insured and qualified Aesthetics Practitioner and Microblading Specialist with more than nine years’ experience, Hannah said her passion has always been to “instil confidence back into my clients.”
The idea began four years ago after Hannah treated a client with alopecia who had lost her hair at just two years old.
The woman was saving for a £250 wig when Hannah offered to microblade her eyebrows free of charge instead of charging her £230 so that she could afford the wig.
“Seeing her reaction was just lovely,” said Hannah. “It made me want to give that feeling to more people.”

Some clients choose to have their eyebrows done before starting chemotherapy so they notice less of a change.
Hannah said: “One had it so her children wouldn’t realise or see any different or changes to bring her and them comfort."
She promotes the sessions on social media and says the response is always strong but now wants to reach more people.
Local hospitals also pass her details on to patients who might benefit from her services.

The treatment usually costs around £230, but Hannah says the reward of helping others is priceless. “The response of everyone who I help completely makes it worth it,” she said.
Hannah has run her salon since leaving school at 15 and now employs nine staff offering a full range of beauty services.
Hannah Clare Aesthetics is based at 1 N Eastern Terrace in Darlington, near Yarm Road.
