One person has been airlifted to hospital after a medical incident at a historic County Durham bridge.
Emergency services were called to Causey Arch, near Stanley, following the incident at 2pm on Monday (October 27).
Several ambulance crews were sent to the scene, while an air ambulance is believed to have landed near Beckley Farm, a short distance away from the railway bridge.
The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) has confirmed that one person was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
Their condition remains unknown.
A NEAS spokesperson said: "We were called to a medical incident at Causey Arch, County Durham, at 2pm this afternoon, 27 October.
"We dispatched a double crewed ambulance, one vehicle from our Hazardous Area Response Team and were supported by Great North Air Ambulance Service. One patient was taken by air to the Royal Victoria Infirmary."
