An award-winning filmmaker and a talented North East writer are joining forces for a new short film project.

Dean Midas and Gordon Hindson have announced their latest collaboration, following the success of their recent family comedy-horror short, Alfie's Dream.

Mr Midas, from Willington, County Durham, said: "The new film will start production in January.

"Expect another fun, spooky ride."

Alfie's Dream tells the story of a football-loving boy who faces off against a team of zombie footballers.

Written by Mr Hindson, the film featured a cast primarily of young North East actors and is available to watch for free on YouTube.

The lighthearted comedy-horror marked a departure from Mr Midas’s usual horror shorts, blending his directorial style with Mr Hindson’s family-friendly storytelling.

Mr Hindson said: "I am blown away by the success of Alfie's Dream.

"I was only expecting views of around 500, but as we speak it is currently nearer 7,000 views across all platforms."

Mr Midas is known for his low-budget horror films, often shot on a mobile phone, while Mr Hindson is an actor, personal trainer, and support artist who has worked with major stars.

Their partnership has generated excitement among fans, who are looking forward to another unique and entertaining short film.

Alfie's Dream can be viewed on YouTube.
