A man has died after a crash on a major road which saw police and paramedics called to the scene.
The pedestrian suffered a serious head injury around 5.10pm on Wednesday, October 8, on the A171 Middlesbrough Road, close to the Cross Keys Public House, in Guisborough. The crash involved a Nissan Qashqai.
The man, believed to be aged in his seventies was pronounced dead at the scene.
While no formal identification has yet taken place, the man’s family are being supported by specially trained officers.

Paramedics from the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) also attended the incident.
A spokesperson for the NEAS said: "We were called to a road traffic incident on Middlesbrough Road in Guisborough today (October 8) at 5.08pm. We dispatched one ambulance crew, one specialist paramedic, one clinical team leader and supported by our colleagues at Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS)."
A GNAAS spokesperson added: "We were activated at 5.10pm to reports of a road traffic collision in Guisborough. We had a doctor and a paramedic on board our aircraft and they arrived on scene within 15 minutes."
Enquiries are continuing into the incident, and police would ask any witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number 193117.
