Have you missed being able to watch new episodes of All Creatures Great and Small? Fear not, as series six began on Channel 5 last week.
Viewers will join the Skeldale gang in the Yorkshire Dales once more, but this time it will be in 1945, just as World War II ends.
The series synopsis shares: “We arrive back in Darrowby to veterinary advancements, expanded families, and new faces as they all look ahead to a brighter and more peaceful future.”
Channel 5 adds: "This series will see Herriot's wonderful characters navigating the opportunities that a new world brings, a host of animals great and small, and of course, each other.”

But with series six of All Creatures Great and Small finally here, which is another addition to the 1970s reboot, you might be wondering where the programme is filmed.
Although creator Alf Wight (the real James Herriot) worked as a vet in the North Yorkshire town of Thirsk, he based the semi-autobiographical books in the nearby Yorkshire Dales National Park.
But it’s the “lively, bustling” town of Grassington which acts as the fictional Darrowby village, and of course, you can visit it in real life.

There are plenty of additional filming locations within Grassington that feature heavily in the show, such as a “private residence” in the town that doubles up as the exterior of Skeldale House, with the interior shot in a studio.

When is All Creatures Great and Small series 6 on TV?
Series six of the hit Channel 5 show returns tonight at 9pm.
The summary of the first episode, as shared by Radio Times, teases: “May 1945, and things look very different at Skeldale House as James is struggling with a wild and chaotic Siegfried.
“When Tristan returns from war and is shocked to see the shift in his brother, he and James decide to take action.
“But there's also some good news around the corner for everyone.”
The following episodes will air weekly on Thursdays at the same time.
