Royal Mail will be "pulling out all the stops" for the busy Christmas 2025 period and will be hiring around 20,000 temporary workers to meet demand.
The seasonal roles will run from late October through to early January 2026, to help deal with the likes of Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas.
These new jobs will be split across two parcel hubs, four seasonal parcel sorting centres and 37 mail centres across the UK.
England will have 12,000 mail centre sorting roles available, and Scotland will have 2,000 up for grabs.

Alongside that, Wales will have 600 and Northern Ireland will have 400.
The seasonal recruits will help sort the growing number of online shopping orders before the packages are taken to Royal Mail's 1,200 delivery offices.
Royal Mail added that there will also be 3,000 delivery and collection roles across the UK, as well as 2,000 temporary HGV and MGV driver roles.
It will set up four extra seasonal sorting centres in Atherstone, Milton Keynes, Northampton and Daventry to help it fulfil deliveries.
