Proposals have been filed to transform the upper floors of a shop on Silver Street into a five-bedroom house in multiple occupation (HMO).
The application, submitted by Saddlers Land & Property Ltd, aims to change the use of part of the retail space at 13–15 Silver Street.
The building is currently occupied by Moon Jewellery, although the store on the ground floor would not be impacted by the conversion upstairs.
The proposed development would create a single household flat, independently accessed from Silver Street, with the upper floors of number 13 being converted for residential use only.
Plans include reinstating a blocked-up window at the rear of the building and replacing entrance doors.

The three-storey conversion would involve internal and minor external alterations.
The building at 13 Silver Street is late 19th century, while numbers 14–15 are possibly from the 16th or 17th century.
Proposed changes are described by applicants as having a negligible impact on the building's history.
